Dale County woman killed walking along roadway

ECHO, Ala. (WTVY) -A 79-year-old Dale County woman died Wednesday morning after being struck by a car on a rural roadway.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley identified the pedestrian as Doris Densel.

Densel was walking along County Road 83 in the Echo community about 4:00 a.m. when an oncoming vehicle struck her.

First responders rushed Densel to a Dothan hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Alabama state troopers are investigating the crash.

Cawley thanked several responding agencies for their assistance at the scene.
