Rehm wins second term in Alabama House
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Republican incumbent Rep. Rick Rehm overcame an early deficit Tuesday night to defeat Democratic challenger Aristotle Kirkland and secure a second term representing Alabama House District 85.

Rehm’s general election victory preserves the Republican majority in the district, which covers parts of Henry and Houston counties, four years after he first flipped the seat from Democratic control in 2022.
The path to reelection proved challenging for Rehm, who also had to navigate a competitive Republican primary battle against retired Henry County Probate Judge David Money earlier in the cycle.
Rehm, who begins his second term when the Alabama Legislature convenes in January, said one of his key legislative priorities will be joining a growing bipartisan coalition of lawmakers pushing to regulate Flock automated license plate reading cameras.
