ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - Adrienne Reid, the Enterprise woman accused of killing her young daughter, has asked a judge for a speedy trial, according to court records.

Reid’s attorney, David Harrison, filed the motion late Tuesday. Harrison did not give a reason beyond stating that Reid is being held without bond on capital murder and abuse of corpse charges and is constitutionally entitled to a speedy trial.

Reid’s two-year-old daughter, Genesis, is still missing and authorities believe her remains may be in the Coffee County landfill, though a weeks-long search has not located them.

Coffee County District Attorney James Tarbox said he believes prosecutors can still secure a conviction without recovering Genesis’ remains, citing what he described as extensive circumstantial evidence. That evidence includes video that investigators say shows Reid throwing a duffel bag into a dumpster on Christmas night 2025, which police believe is the day the child died.

Reid did not report her daughter missing until Feb. 16.
