New firetruck now in service in Ozark
DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The City of Ozark Fire Department has pushed out the newest addition of their fleet, which will now enhance the department’s capabilities during crucial emergency operations.
The new firetruck, a 2025 E-One Typhoon 75-foot Quint, was recently placed into service and features modern upgrades that will improve responsiveness for the department in several key situations, including aerial operations, fire suppression, water delivery and rescue response while better supporting other safety needs for residents and businesses.
“The addition of this new Quint represents continued progress in protecting our community,” Ozark Fire Chief Jason Maertens said. “It is more than just a fire truck; it is an investment in safety and efficiency.” said Fire Chief Jason Maertens.

The $997,565 state-of-the-art apparatus, which was ordered in November 2022 by Fire Chief Philip Prince, replaces a 1997 E-One Quint that has been in service with the department for nearly 28 years, having arrived under the leadership of Fire Chief Dempsey Barefield and ordered during the construction of Station 3.
Chief Maertens thanked former Ozark Mayor Mark Blankenship, the Ozark City Council and the citizens of Ozark for helping make the investment for this new ladder truck possible. He also thanked former Chief Prince for “putting that process into motion” to help get this new unit for the department.
