Multiple law enforcement agencies were investigating a fatal wreck on Highway 27 Wednesday night in Georgia.

Around 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Georgia State Patrol and the Early and Miller County Sheriff's Offices responded to a crash on the south bound shoulder of 27 just south of Damascus Road.

Traffic was stopped for more than 2 hours.

A Georgia patrolman said two vehicles were involved - one standard sedan and a side by side Honda ATV.

The cause is still being investigated, but they've confirmed one fatality.

The other driver sustained some injuries and was taken to the hospital.

A few of the drivers waiting for the accident to be cleared said they worry about Highway 27 at night because of how dark it is and because of all the deer the road has this time of year.

The Georgia State Patrol is working on notifying the family of the deceased driver.
