LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - Legendary rock band Metallica has been announced as the next residency to take over the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Metallica announced its “Life Burns Faster” residency on Wednesday. The eight-show run is scheduled for Oct. 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31.

“This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited,” Metallica co-founder and drummer Lars Ulrich said.

The shows are said to feature live staples and surprises from the Metallica catalog with performances enhanced by Sphere’s immersive technologies.

The residency will also continue the band’s No Repeat Weekend format, where no songs will be repeated on each Thursday and Saturday pairing throughout the run.

Weekend packages and single-night tickets go on sale March 6 at 10 a.m. PT.
