MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) — Charges were dismissed for a Memphis mother who was arrested in 2024 after posting photos on social media showing her 5-year-old daughter waxing adult women.

Police said the images were uploaded in February 2024 to 33-year-old Jasmine Moss’ Instagram account, which she used to promote her hair removal service. Investigators said three photos showed the child applying hot wax to adults’ nude pubic areas.

On Thursday, Moss’ child abuse and neglect charges were dismissed.

“The charges were dismissed after Ms. Moss successfully completed all court-ordered requirements, including community service, therapy, and parenting classes, and remained free of new criminal charges for two years,” the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said.

Moss’ attorney, Blake Ballin, released the following statement:

“From the beginning, Ms. Moss has acknowledged that she made a very poor parenting decision. She is grateful that the DA’s office understands that people deserve a second chance. Over the last 2+ years, Ms. Moss has worked tirelessly to better herself through counseling and community service. Today, as a result of these successful efforts, all charges against her were dismissed.”
