Pedestrian killed in Ashford identified

ASHFORD Ala. (WTVY) -After several hours of investigating the death of a pedestrian, authorities were able to identify the victim.
Houston County Coroner Robert Byrd said 48-year-old Shawn Warren died while walking along a highway in Ashford, Alabama, on Monday morning.
Byrd said the victim had no identification in his possession and initial attempts to identify him after the accident along U.S. 84 proved unsuccessful.
However, by the afternoon, further investigation revealed Warren’s identity.
Byrd said Warren was homeless, but in the past had ties to Minnesota.
The driver of the vehicle that struck Warren faces no charges.
