Officer heading home after work killed in crash with wrong-way driver

LAS VEGAS (KVVU/Gray News) - A police officer in Las Vegas has died after being involved in a wrong-way crash while on his way home.

According to Nevada State Police, the crash occurred just before 12: 30 a.m. Thursday when a vehicle was traveling the wrong way on Interstate 15 near the Valley of Fire collided with multiple cars that were traveling north on the highway.

Two men were confirmed dead at the scene, and one woman was transported by air to an area hospital.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department identified one of the victims in the crash as off-duty Officer Colton Pulsipher. Officials said he was driving in his own vehicle while heading home after work.

He joined the department in 2017 and is survived by his wife and three children.

A portion of the highway was closed for hours at the crash scene for the investigation near mile marker 75.

Authorities did not immediately identify the other person killed in the crash while their investigation remains ongoing.
