ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) - Enterprise State Community College (ESCC) prides itself on being a pillar in education.

“I could not be more excited about the growth, the programs and the facilities,” said Anna Head.

Head, who serves as ESCC’s Dean of Instruction, has never seen growth this big.

“I know that over the years, I had students who would tell me, ‘I was a friend of so and so,’ or ‘you taught my brother, you taught my sister,’” said Head.

Seeing students come and go year after year, she knows word of mouth plays a huge role.

That’s why emphasizing the professor-student relationship is so important.

There is nothing more important than the relationship that our faculty have with students and their ability to impact students,” said Head. “As a community college, we value the ability to know them personally and to know that we’re making a difference in their lives.”

This process starts early through the college’s dual enrollment program.

“Dual enrollment can make such a difference in the lives of students as they can become employable even before they graduate from high school,” said Head.

This program itself saw a 45 percent increase in enrollment.

It’s all about letting them recognize the impact this school can have on their career.

“As they say, it takes a village, it really is the human factor,” said Head. “It’s every face of student services, the business and administrative offices and our excellent faculty and the quality of education we offer at the college.”

Even though it’s just a two-year program, they’re influencing these students long term.

For students who are looking to enroll for spring semester, registration opens on October 31.
