ESCC, Coffee Co. EMA show Wiregrass what to do during active shooter situations

Many gathered at ESCC's student center to learn how to protect themselves and others during high-stress situations

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) Some are learning how to better protect themselves when trouble arises.

Enterprise State Community College and Coffee Co. EMA partnered to teach the community what to do to protect themselves during a violent event, such as an active shooter situation.

Nearly 150 people preregistered in order to learn about how these situations affect them mentally and physically.

"It's gonna either be flight fight or freeze," explained speaker and chief of safety at ESCC Jeff Spence, "and with this knowledge, it will help you prepare for that."

ESCC plans on hosting another training for C.R.A.S.E. which stands for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events, on February 18th.
