Wiregrass Residents Try To Beat The Heat

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) The hot temperatures will continue through the memorial day holiday and to beat the heat, people are changing up their routines.
“So for me, it’s starting out early. it’s making sure you’re hydrated. Hydrate is a huge key. Hydrate before. Hydrate during and hydrate after,” says Dothan runner Mark Leonard.
While some are trying to escape it, the heat is drawing some visitors to the Wiregrass.
“We’re coming out here to the water park. We’ve never been here before to see what it’s like,” says Cassie Johnson who is a first time Water World visitor.
Still, others are hoping the weather changes soon.
“It needs to rain. It really needs to rain to cool off a little bit,” says Taylor resident Karen Smith.
But, there are those that are excited to have fun in this summer like weather.
“Playing in the water is my favorite part of the summer.. and also swimming,” says Joseph Bradshaw who spent his day at the splash pad in Taylor.
If you are opting to be out in the sun, remember to stay hydrated and wear your sunblock.
