The office of Governor Kay Ivey created a webpage as a source of information for Alabama residents and Florida evacuees. The site has links for how to find hotels, shelters and campgrounds, as well as traffic conditions and other available state resources.
The National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds will offer a portion of its 200 acre Fairgrounds for RV evacuees. We have complimentary grassy areas for 400 self-contained RV's (no power/sewer/water) and 100 additional spaces that will include water/sewer/50amp power hookups. All RV spaces wil lbe complimentary at fairgrounds for evacuees. RV evacuees seeking a temporary RV space, should enter the Fairgrounds located at 5622 US Hwy 231 South @ Festival Drive Dothan Al 36301. The Fairground is 3 Miles South of Dothan Alabama on Hwy 231 in Houston County. (31 miles from Florida I-10.)

The City of Geneva, Alabama has, waved the RV overnight fees to stay at our Park at the Rivers..Contact 334-723-2370.

Cowarts Baptist Church has spots available for rv/ campers. Anyone in need of assistance can call the pastor at 334-803-4580 or the youth minister at 334-796-9450.

Self contained trailers and motorhomes can come to any of the churches or town hall in Cowarts. Contact Cowartt Mayor at 791-2559 for more info.

Beginning on Saturday, September 9 and going through September 15, park gates will be open from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. each day to allow visitors to set up camp with their RVs or tents. Livestock trailers are welcome. These sites are first come, first served. The Landmark Park office is not manned after hours, so calls will only be answered during park hours (Mon.-Sat. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Sun. noon-6 p.m.) The charge is $15 per day per site. Unfortunately, Landmark Park does not have hook-ups for RVs, only sites to park your vehicle or to tent camp. After park hours, campers will have access to handicapped accessible bathrooms and the playground. During park hours, visitors will have access to all areas of the park at no additional charge. While pets are usually not allowed at Landmark Park, campers are allowed to have pets with them at their campsites but they must stay on a leash at all times.



Okaloosa County Public Safety will be opening two shelters for evacuees from South Florida. The two shelters will be opened at Riverside Elementary School and Shoal River Middle School on Redstone Avenue in Crestview. The Shoal River Middle School will open at 4:00pm for evacuees from the Florida Peninsula only, as tropical conditions are not currently expected in Okaloosa County. The Riverside Elementary School shelter will open when the Shoal River Middle School shelter reaches 75% capacity.

Marianna High School will be opened as an emergency shelter at 2:00 pm today. It is not a "pet friendly " shelter. There will also be a PSN (People with Special Needs) shelter at Marianna High School. As many people across the state are facing mandatory evacuations, this shelter will provide additional accommodations for those having to leave their homes.

Jackson County The General Population Shelter and People with Special Needs Shelters will be open at 2:00 pm today (9/8/17). The Shelters are located at 3546 Caverns Road, Marianna Florida. Na animals, firearms or alcohol will be allowed. It is anticipated that you will be at the shelter through Monday possibly into Tuesday


Washington County, A Risk Shelter will open tomorrow, 9/10 at 5PM at Roulhac Middle School located at 1535 Brickyard Road, Chipley. A Special Needs Shelter will open at 5PM in the 5th Grade Wing of the same campus. Those staying in the shelter should understand they are not for comfort but simply a last resort option. Bring bedding, personal hygiene items, snacks and medications.

Holmes County, Holmes County will open two Risk Shelters Sunday, 9-10-17 at 5PM at: Poplar Springs School located at 3726 Atomic Drive, Graceville, FL 32440. This shelter will be for Special Needs and General Population. New Hope Fire Station located at 1243 N Hwy 1791A, Westville, FL 32464. This shelter will be for General Population. Those staying in the shelter should understand they are not for comfort but simply a last resort option. Bring bedding, personal hygiene items, snacks and medications.

Walton County, The City of DeFuniak Springs would like to notify citizens of potential hazardous weather conditions over the next several days. We urge all citizens to use caution at this time. Please be advised all City Offices will be closed on Monday, September 11, 2017, which will include the City Council meeting scheduled for Monday evening. Livestock owners be prepared to care for your animals while they are away. Please be sure to bring the following items with you:
Current list of all animals, including their records of feeding, vaccinations, and tests. Make sure that you have proof of ownership for all animals.
Supplies for temporary identification of your animals, such as plastic neckbands and permanent markers to label your animals with your name, address, and telephone number.

Handling equipment such as halters and appropriate tools for each kind of animal.
Water, feed, and buckets. Tools and supplies needed for sanitation.
