Officers share the dangers of driving under the influence with Wallace students

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Wallace Community College has teamed up with Spectracare to warn students of the dangers of underage drinking and driving under the influence.

A seminar was held allowing for students to hear from local officers about the way driving under the influence has personally affected them.

A Wallace Community College officer shared his story about how a driver under the influence took the life of a loved one.

Laws and statistics were shared to bring to life just how often drunk driving occurs during spring break.

The seminar aimed to educate and prevent students from driving under the influence.

Corporal Andy Davis with the Dothan Police Department says "Choices now can affect your tomorrow, so to get them to understand that I'm going to need to make the right choice today and not drive DUI, be responsible. If you get to the point where you are intoxicated, be responsible and call somebody to drive you somewhere".
