OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) — Students at Carroll High School in Ozark paid respect to veterans as well as city officials and their teachers on Thursday.

The school's J-ROTC unit presented the colors and students talked about the importance of Veterans Day and what it means to them.

Kailey Owen says,
"We should honor the veteran because they took the call to go when we needed them. They go out there every day and risk their lives for us to have what we have because in third world countries were very blessed to have what we have and thanks to them because they have worked so hard,"

Carroll’s J-ROTC gave a special salute to armed forces members of every branch.
