DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Azalea Dogwood trail is Sunday March 17th starting at 2:30 with a ribbon cutting.
The Dothan tradition is a way to kick off spring with a tour of the Garden District.
Azaleas line the festival route and there's a special way to follow it.
Beth Hemby, the President of the Azalea Dogwood Festival says "The pink lines mark the route of the trail, the city paints them a week before hand because they fade over the year and it’s just a way to let everyone know which way to go as they wind through the streets ".
The Azalea Dogwood Festival has been around for 55-years.
