REHOBETH, AL (WTVY) -- Two Rehobeth Elementary School students are facing disciplinary measures following a prank phone call.

Houston County Sheriff's investigators says the call came in about 9 Tuesday morning.

The two students said one of them had a handgun in their backpack.

Deputies searched backpacks and the buses, but found no gun.

Rehobeth Elementary School's Principal, Greg Yance, says even though other children were never in danger, the two students will be punished.

"A couple young students made a bad decision this morning (Tuesday) and thought it was a prank or something that was funny. It was not funny. We take it seriously. We certainly do not want to have any instances in the future like this," said Yance.

Yance would not elaborate on the students ages or what disciplinary measures are being taken.
