SAMSON, Ala. (WTVY) - The city of Samson is showing off its new city hall, freshly decorated for Christmas.
They held an open house in conjunction with their Christmas parade.
City officials moved into the building a few months ago after their old one started having issues.
Samson police also moved across the street into the new city hall shortly after the city bought it.
The building was recently renovated, but has been a part of Samson’s downtown since 1905.
"We just saw a great opportunity to save a historical building, and also to move into a much nicer facility," said Samson Mayor Clay King.
The building cost the city $275,000.
The mayor believes that by selling off the two old buildings, they can pay off the debt.
