Sales tax increasing in several South GA counties

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Several counties in South Georgia are increasing the sales tax rate.

The tax rate is increasing to 8 percent, according to the Georgia Department of Revenue.

The counties affected by the tax rate change are Calhoun, Lee, Miller and Terrell.

The new tax rate is effective April 1, 2019.
