Rehobeth Middle School is getting a new lunchroom

REHOBETH, Ala. (WTVY) -- Rehobeth Middle School held a groundbreaking today for their own lunchroom.

School leaders say their current lunchroom was built in the 1980s and serves the Elementary School as well as the Middle School.

In addition, right now the existing lunchroom feeds 1800 student when it was built for about 800.

Houston County Superintendent David Sewell said, “It’s never a good time or a bad time to start a project but, we need to get started on it as soon as possible to get it built, this has actually been in the works for about a year."

The new lunchroom will primarily be for the middle school and if there's an overflow for the elementary school too.

Construction should take about a year to complete.
