Dothan, AL (WTVY)-- Dothan police searched in Eufaula Wednesday, looking for another gun that could have been used to kill 38-year old Rodney Caliste.

He died on October 24, his body found outside his upscale home on Woodham Road in Dothan. Shot at close range, Caliste suffered one or more wounds to the head.

Police recovered one pistol at the crime scene. However, the search in Eufaula signals a belief there could have been another murder weapon. It may also indicate there are multiple shooters involved.

On Monday, officers returned to Caliste's home, taking photos of the garage near where they found his body and also using what appeared to be metal detectors to search a broader area.

Investigators have not revealed what they sought.

A small budget movie producer, Caliste had a criminal history---convicted of trafficking cocaine 13 years ago. Before that, he served in the military as a meteorologist, per his obituary.

Police have not speculated publicly about a motive and are not ruling out anything.

This investigation has also expanded beyond Alabama. The Federal Bureau of Investigation is now involved, per law enforcement sources.

Caliste lived in Dothan most of his life but recently resided in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
