DNA on coffee cups and cigarette butt break burglary case

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. Investigators say a career criminal, already in jail is responsible for a burglary at Regional Utilities at Santa Rosa Beach, nine months ago.

James Dexter Jackson faces charges of grand theft and burglary.

Police say Jackson drank coffee and smoked a cigarette while committing the crime. Police used DNA found on the Styrofoam cups and the cigarette butt to crack their case.

Stolen items include about $2,600 of fishing equipment, a $400 wakeboard and other sporting goods.
