Plans moving forward to 6-lane part of Ross Clark Circle

DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) One thing many people complain about in Dothan, traffic.

Plans are in the works to hopefully make it a little less stressful.

The plan is to 6-lane the Ross Clark Circle from North Cherokee to Bauman Drive.

Mayor Mark Saliba says that this is one of the most heavily traveled parts of the circle.

The commission approved moving the water and sanitary sewer facilities so work can begin soon.

Saliba says,
"This is one of the projects that the state wanted to move forward with, they are helping with funding and we are looking to move forward. But it is very heavily traveled."

The hope is to start work near the end of 2018.

The work will take nearly 2 years to complete.
