DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- Seventh grade students from Panama City took a field up to the Wiregrass Wednesday morning.

They visited the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens as part of their end of the year incentive trip.

The 97 students were divided into four groups, where volunteers taught them about soil types, water content, pollinating flowers, the Rose Garden, and vegetables and herbs growing this time of the year.

"I'm looking forward to the students being able to see what's out in nature as opposed to being in a building," said 7th Grade English Teacher Angela Howard."It's something different and unique, especially the beauty up here this time of year. Hopefully everything will be in bloom."

The students visiting were from North Bay Haven Charter Academy and were happy to explore new territory on their field trip.
