Pamela Landwirth to Speak in DeFuniak Springs Jan. 25

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla President & CEO Pamela Landwirth of Give Kids The World Village (Kissimmee, FL) will be addressing the Florida Chautauqua Assembly on Saturday, January 25, 9am at the First United Methodist Church, 88 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, Florida. This year’s assembly theme is “A Journey into the World of Happiness,” and Landwirth’s presentation addresses the power of selfless giving as one of the ingredients of finding inner peace and happiness for yourself or your employees and colleagues using the Give Kids The World Village model of volunteering.

Give Kids The World Village ( is an 84-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with critical illnesses and their families. The Village and its community partners provide children and their families accommodations in fully furnished villas, transportation, tickets to theme parks, meals, daily entertainment and much more. Each year 27,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with a critical illness. Half of all children eligible for a wish through a partnering wish-granting organization choose to visit Central Florida and its collection of theme parks and other attractions. The Goal of Give Kids The World Village, quite simply, is to provide everything these deserving families need to make their trip the vacation of a lifetime. Since 1986, more than 175,000 children and families have had their dreams fulfilled in a whimsical Village unlike any other place on earth.

As President and CEO of Give Kids The World, Landwirth inspires a committed family of staff, volunteers and donors to make the Village possible. She has been part of Give Kids The World since 1992, and was chosen to lead the Village in 1995. She is responsible for the operations of the Village and all strategic advancement initiatives for the organization. Prior to joining the Village, Landwirth developed an extensive background in resort operations management, human resource development, and project planning from her 16 years with the Walt Disney World Company. At Disney, she was involved in everything from Casting to park operations to attractions sales. After leaving Disney in 1993, Landwirth was a consultant to the President and CEO of Hard Rock Cafe in all areas of human resources, organizational development, and strategic planning.

A purpose-driven leader and experienced executive, Pamela has dedicated her career to fueling the greater good. Her purpose is to inspire organizations to harness and unleash the power of purpose and to champion a culture of engagement and service to others. Her book, On Purpose, explores the value of defining purpose and giving service in companies' efforts to increase engagement, improve productivity, and boost morale.

Pamela Landwirth’s Saturday Keynote Presentation is part of the 4-day, annual historic Florida Chautauqua Assembly in DeFuniak Springs, Florida which features famous/notable keynote speakers, educational breakout sessions, performance teas evening dinner performances and exhibits relating to an annual theme. The 2020 theme is “A Journey into the World of Happiness.” Florida Chautauqua Association leaders are orchestrating a drive of new, unwrapped toys for the Village, as well as teams who wish to volunteer at the Village sometime during the year. The Association will also connect corporate or individual financial donors to Landwirth and her attending representatives.

Tickets to individual events of the Assembly vary. All living history exhibits in Chipley Park are sponsored by the City of DeFuniak Springs and are free to the public.
