New ESCC truck driving classes will put more truckers on the road

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) -- A new program is coming to Enterprise State Community College, a truck driving course, which is the first of its kind in Southeast Alabama.

ESCC President Matt Rodgers says, "By 2024, there will be a shortage of over 200,000 truck drivers."

And they want to combat that problem.

They've announced a new 6 week CDL course that will be available at the Aviation College campus in Ozark.

Rodgers says, "We are so excited to serve this region and this part of the state."

Rodgers says students will graduate ready to hit the road.

The first class will be this fall.
