ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) -- After a day long trip to visit other recreation and wellness centers, the Enterprise Parks and Recreation Center decided it's time for a new facility.
“The goal is to provide a quality rec center for our citizens for our community. Something that we have not had in a very long time.”
Jason Wright, Communications Director, City of Enterprise
On February 13, the Enterprise City Council gave the Parks and Recreation Director permission to find a consulting firm that can do a conceptual design plan. That plan will ultimately decide what size facilities are needed, the accessories to go with it, a budget, and a potential location.
The current location is centralized and familiar to the city, but the study would determine whether to tear it down and rebuild or start fresh.
While the plans are still in its beginning stages, the city anticipates at minimum, the total cost around $14 million.
