New library program gives free admission to cultural institutions

DOTHAN, Al. (WTVY) - The Dothan-Houston County Library is making it easier for library pass holders to see attractions around the Wiregrass.

Starting New Year’s Day, a new program called "connect pass" gives library cardholders free admission to cultural institutions.

Those currently signed up for the program are Escape Dothan, Landmark Park, and Southeast Alabama Community Theater (SEACT).

Library cards are free, and with the card you’ll have access to a website to be announced in January.

"Part of our job is to meet the needs of our people and it may not necessarily be a program we can do in the library. That is why we partnered with these other institutions to not only to help our patrons but to provide them with access to other places as well," said Terah Harris, Dothan-Houston County Library Interim Director.

This is a test run and as the program continues more attractions will be added.
