CAUGHT: Suspect in Auburn shooting that killed officer, injured two others, now in custody

AUBURN, Ala. (WTVM) - Auburn police have arrested a suspect they say killing one officer and shooting two other police officers. The severity of the other two officers’ injuries is not known at this time.

According to a press release authorities are searching for Grady Wayne Wilkes, 29. Police say Wilkes opened fire on officers responding to a domestic disturbance at a home in the 3000 block of Wire Rd. just after 10 p.m. CST. Courtesy: Auburn PD / WTVM

Auburn Police spent much of the night looking for Grady Wayne Wilkes, 29. Police say Wilkes opened fire on officers responding to a domestic disturbance at a home in the 3000 block of Wire Rd. just after 10 p.m. CST.

The responding officers were injured in the shooting and were taken to local hospitals. One of those officers was taken to East Alabama Medical Center, where he died. The identity of the officer killed as not yet been released.
