Miss Azalea-Dogwood Pageant Crowns New Queen

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) The Wiregrass has a new queen.

Ashlyn Simpson was crowned Miss Azalea-Dogwood Saturday evening, at the Dothan Opera House.

Ashlyn is a junior at Northside Methodist Academy, where she plays Varsity girls basketball, and is enrolled in the Academic Honors and College Preparatory Program.

As the new Miss Azalea-Dogwood, Ashlyn will receive a $2,000 scholarship to the school of her choice.

Ashlyn has chosen to attend Auburn University.

Ashlyn will also receive a $500 cash award.

Our very own Devon Sellers was one of the event's MCs.

The Azalea-Dogwood Pageant is open to all girls in the Wiregrass, who are juniors in high school.

All of the young ladies who participated in this year's pageant will be Trail Maidens in this year's Azalea-Dogwood Trail, which takes place on Sunday, March 10th.
