PONCE DE LEON, Fla. (WJHG) -- Holmes County Sheriff's Deputies have caught a man they say tried to stab someone.

Deputies say Mitchell Holland, 36, of Panama City, was found in a car at a home on Ponce de Leon Springs Road in Ponce de Leon. The victims say they do not know Holland. When they tried to confront him, they say a fight broke out. One of the victims says Holland tried to stab them.

When searching the vehicle, deputies say they found items with Holland's name on them, as well as a meth pipe with meth in it.

Deputies say Holland ran away towards Mayo Road. He was caught Friday morning after a K-9 team started tracking him.

Both Ponce de Leon High School and Ponce de Leon Elementary School were put on heightened security by Holmes County School District during the search.
