It took a Houston County jury only about an hour Tuesday to return a guilty verdict against a man accused of murder.
Clifford Warren Perry was convicted of stabbing Trevon Lingo to death in the parking lot of a Columbia, Alabama convenience store in 2016. Investigators say the two men had been arguing.
While Perry, from Houston County, didn’t deny the stabbing, he claimed he didn’t intend to kill Lingo.
Perry, who underwent psychological examination following his arrest, will be sentenced in a few weeks.
The case was successfully prosecuted by Houston County Assistant District Attorney Russ Goodman.
