Jackson County inmate convicted of murdering cellmate

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - According to the State Attorney's Office, a Jackson County jury convicted Frederick Patterson III of second degree murder.

They determined he used his hands and feet to beat his cellmate to death on October 2, 2015 when he was in the Apalachee Correctional Institution in Sneads.

The trial lasted two days, and witnesses proved the attack using pictures.

Patterson's scheduled for sentencing Thursday.

He's also accused of killing a cellmate on January 15th at the Jackson County Correctional Facility. The cellmate reportedly died from their injuries after an ambush style attack.
