Dothan (WTVY)-- UPDATED 12/27/2017

We now know the charges facing a man who led police on a dangerous high-speed chase Tuesday.

Jamaal McGhee is accused of aggravated assault, attempting to elude, and reckless endangerment.

Dothan Police say McGhee fired shots into an occupied car Tuesday. No one was hurt. He then led police on a high-speed chase reaching speeds near 100 mph.

The pursuit ended when McGhee wrecked near Northside Walmart.

A Dothan man faces numerous charges for leading police on a high speed pursuit. It started after a shooting where nobody was injured.

Police Chief Steve Parrish said the shots were fired from a car driven by Jamaal McGhee, 29, of Dothan toward another car but missed the mark.

His car reached nearly 100 miles per hour, as he sped from Dothan to Dale County and back to Dothan, where he wrecked near Northside Walmart.

During the chase, a passenger jumped from McGhee’s BMW but was not injured. Police say she won’t be charged.

McGhee will be. “We’re going to charge him with multiple crimes for placing innocent people’s lives in jeopardy and firing the shots that could have caused death or injury,” Parrish said.
