DOTHAN, AL. (WTVY) - Students at Wallace College in Dothan were thinking about more than just their grades Wednesday morning.
18 companies from around the Wiregrass came out to raise awareness about overall health and wellness for students. Spectracare, the main sponsor of the semi-annual health fair, specializes in reducing underage drinking by offering programs to prevent risky behavior.
"I'm looking forward to this event being the success that it already has begun to be because the students will get to connect and get assistance from the vendors in managing a healthy lifestyle," said Spectracare Preventative Specialist Robbie Treadwell.
"A common stressor is keeping up with your grades as well as their social life," said Student Government Association President Jasmine Grice. "As students, they put so much pressure on themselves. We want to let them know we have resources in our community, and that we care about them.
The fair was also open to anyone in the Wiregrass who wanted to get their eyes or blood pressure checked and learn more about getting in shape.
They'll hold another health fair later this year.
