Goldman Sachs: U.S. unemployment could soon fall to a 50-year low

(CNN) -- A bold prediction from Goldman Sachs on America's unemployment rate.

In a recently published report, Goldman Sachs says the U.S. unemployment rate will likely fall to 3.5% by the end of 2019.

Such a number has not been seen since 1969, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

President Donald Trump cheered the forecast, tweeting "analysts predict economic boom for 2018."

The U.S. unemployment rate rose to 10% during the great recession.

But it has since plummeted to its current rate of 4.1%.
