FEMA hiring for hurricane recovery efforts

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WJHG) -- FEMA is still hiring people in the Florida panhandle to help with recovery efforts after Hurricane Michael.

FEMA says it has hired 43 people so far, but there are more jobs open. If you are interested in applying for a temporary FEMA job, check out USAjobs.gov where the list is posted. Search keyword "FEMA local hire" and "Florida" as location.

Some of the positions reportedly filled recently include environmental specialist, historic preservation specialist, logistics specialist, mitigation specialist, engineer/architect specialist, training/administrative specialist, planning specialist, and FEMA Public Assistance program specialist.

Each job lasts for 120 days but can be extended in 120 day increments up to one year.
