DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Enterprise Demolition Project has entered its 7th and final phase.

Five houses are planned for the final stage, which is expected to be completed by the end of March to the middle of April.

The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs awarded the city a $250,000 grant to eliminate up to 105 dilapidated houses.

With that funding, a total of 90 houses were able to be eliminated.

People agree this project was a necessary step in bettering the city, but hope the project did not leave anybody homeless.

“As far as saying you know getting someone kicked out of a structure to Demo it., that does not happen. We want to make sure that what we are doing benefits the public and doesn’t cause harm to anybody’s welfare.” -- Jared Alexander, Director of Engineering Services, City f Enterprise
