Election Day is off to a good start

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — As of 10AM, on Election Day turnout numbers are off to a good start, say election officials. 10% of Houston County registered voters have already voted.

Although it's a gloomy day the rain isn't stopping voters from going out and casting their ballot.

Houston County Probate Judge Patrick Davenport said, "A number of our city precincts are large precincts, so there is a brisk activity today at Doug Tew and as well as the other precincts where I have been to today. The turnout looks really good."

There are many local and state representatives on the ballot as well as four amendments up for approval.

Houston County voters will be deciding between Donald Valenza and Kenneth Robinson for Houston County Sheriff.
