Elba Police identify victim in Thursday shooting

ELBA, Ala. (WTVY) -- UPDATE:

With the assistance of Opp Police Department, Elba police Department have arrested 26-year-old Yatchauntaneeyah "Breezy" Henderson, of Opp, in connection with a Thursday homicide.

Henderson has been arrested for tampering with physical evidence in the investigation.

As of now, Henderson is considered witness in the case.

Henderson will be interviewed and then taken to the Coffee County Jail where she will be held on $5,000.00 bond.

The Elba Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting.

Early in the morning, Thursday police were called to the 600 block of Putman Street where they found a gunshot victim, Donta Jaqun Rogers.

Rogers was taken first to Medical Center Enterprise, then Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.

Elba Police later learned that Rogers died.

Elba Police are investigating Rogers' death as a homicide.

Lieutenant Russell Young says Elba police currently have no suspects.

"We have numerous leads which some turnout to be nothing. We're currently processing evidence for DNA and fingerprints to possibly help identify any suspects" Lt. Young said.
