Dothan will soon have new city manager if deal is finalized

Dothan (WTVY)-- After a lengthy search Dothan is on the verge on hiring its new city manager. He is Kevin Cowper who now serves as Auburn's assistant city manager.

“We have picked Kevin Cowper as our candidate and will vote on him soon,” Mayor Mark Saliba told WTVY, referring to commission approval needed to finalize the hire.

Cowper has worked in Auburn since 2007 and, according to the city's website, also serves as chief operating officer.

In Dothan, he will replace Mike West who retired in December after 14 years on the job. West continues to work on a part time basis under a personal services contract but after Cowper assumes his duties.
