DOTHAN, AL (WTVY) -- It's no secret the north and west sides of Dothan are growing quickly, but now leaders are focusing on the east side of the Circle City.
At a public meeting tonight people told the City Planning Commission what could be done to improve their quality of life.
This project will start at the Oates and Main Street intersection downtown... And extend to the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine on Highway 84 East.
One small business owner hopes the project will attract more businesses downtown.
Destiny Hosmer from Mural City Coffee Company says "We really want to bring a more community feel downtown, and if the corridor attracts people downtown, and they see what's going on downtown, and they see all of the development happening, we hope that's the direction it goes in."
The commission is hoping to have plans approved by the end of this year.
