Dothan, AL (WTVY)-- A Dothan sports bar has closed as the city prepared to rescind a privilege license that allowed it to sell alcoholic beverages.

A city staff report expected to be presented to commissioners claims Blue Bar and Grill has failed to pay city taxes and also operated without a business license.

The report claims owner Andre Barber has already been found guilty of operating without a business license.

The city had also planned to ask the Alabama Alcohol Beverage Control Board, the only liquor wholesaler in the state, to stop selling to Blue Bar.

A check of the establishment Monday revealed a “For Rent” sign on its door. The owner of the shopping center where Blue Bar operated confirmed to WTVY the business had closed.

It's unclear when the business closed but its Facebook page indicated it was open until at least November 16.
