Dothan Restaurant raises money for wounded Ozark officer

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) Cheeburger Cheeburger held a fundraiser to help the family of Ozark police officer Samuel Yoh.

Yoh was shot multiple times including in the head, after responding to a call back in December.

Although he has made a miraculous recovery, he still has a long way to go, and his family needs all the help they can get.

The restaurant donated 25% of Sunday's profits to Yoh’s family.

They also had jars throughout the restaurant that patrons could put additional donations in.

“Our first responders and officers are the most important thing in our communities," said restaurant manager James Andrews, "they are the first line of defense in any kind of crime that we have and we definitely want to stand behind them and support them.”

A total of $1,000 was raised and will be donated to the Yoh family.
