BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) -- Two more children have died in Florida from the flu the past week. That's according to the Florida Department of Health bringing the death total up to 7 deaths this flu season.

All seven who died were unvaccinated children.

Officials say they've seen moderate activity in Jackson County.

Florida health officials say 19 flu related outbreaks were reported last week across the state. Some of which was reported in Jackson, Holmes and Calhoun Counties.

Officials say be sure to wash your hands frequently. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth. If you do get sick, officials recommend you stay at home until you're fever free for at least 24 hours.
