Core Store offers free supplies for Dothan supplies

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- After months of preparing a program to reduce Dothan teachers' out of pocket spending on essential classroom supplies is up and running.

The Dothan Education Foundation's Core Store is stocked with donated classroom items including paper, utensils and cleaning supplies.

It's all free of charge and Dothan teachers can shop for items they need throughout the school year.

Store organizers say this is a way to give back to our educators.

“I think our teachers have been so excited to know that the community really wants to support what they are doing and we know that they have one of the hardest jobs. I think for them to just know that we are really rallying behind them and that we want to come up with innovative ways to support them and I think they really appreciate that,” says Dothan Education Foundation’s executive director Lindsey Fountain.

Approved and registered teachers can start shopping Wednesday, February 19th from 3 to 6 p.m.
