ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WTVY) -- It's called "Billy Boll Weevil - A Pest Became a Hero".
Hugh Maddox wrote the book in 1976 but stopped printing it soon after.
Pea River Historical Society in Enterprise wrote Maddox a letter asking him for books.
Now, he's giving 100 copies to the museum.
The museum wants to time the release close to the rededication of the Boll Weevil Monument in December.
"It was written for his daughter because he wanted to explain to children about what the boll weevil was. They had the adult explanations but this is in a story form," says Diane Napoli the museum director at Pea Historical Society.
Billy Boll Weevil is the author's only children's book.
If you're interested, the library will accept an $8 deposit per book starting Monday, July 8th.
They're still figuring out the full price.
But, it should be a lot less than the only one we could find on amazon.com. That hardcopy is listed at $99.99.
