Chipley will receive funds from FEMA

CHIPLEY, Fla. (WTVY) When Hurricane Michael hit it crippled Chipley’s utility system.

The city spent a little under half a million dollars get things back running

It has yet to completely recover, but with reimbursements coming from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), a few more projects are scheduled.

"We had a water main that blew out because the system went dry, and we are scheduled to make that repair within the next month," says City Administrator Dan Miner.

That project is estimated to cost around $80,000.
