OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) -- The Carroll High School JROTC has been hard at work since the summer trying to get back to their winning ways.
Cadets have been practicing three to five days a week on their color guard, drill and rifle teams hoping to make it back to the National Drill Championships for the first time in more than three years.
The battalion needs to place in six drill meets across the state to qualify for nationals.
"Carroll High School has a rich heritage and a very excellent program in JROTC and we want to get back to the national level,” Carroll High School Senior Army Instructor Retired Colonel Milton Shipman. “We have some very outstanding young men and women that are working very hard."
The 2020 JROTC nationals will be held on March 21st in Richmond, Virginia.
