COVID-19 takes life of Alabama Representative Dexter Grimsley's sister

Birmingham (WTVY)-- The sister of Alabama Representative Dexter Grimsley has died from the coronavirus. Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth and others confirmed the passing of 59-year old Lorianne Shakespear, who died this weekend.

Ms. Shakespear's Facebook page reveals she was a registered nurse who lived in Birmingham and also a graduate of Abbeville High School.

Details of her sickness are not immediately available.

“Thoughts and prayers to the family of Representative Dexter Grimsley on the passing of his sister,” Ainsworth wrote in a social media post.

Grimsley is a state lawmaker from Newville, who represents District 85
